Aortopathy in bicuspid aortic valve and marfan syndrome is characterized by a lack of activation potential of the epicardium in the ascending aorta.

Description

This paper investigates the aortic pathology in both BAV and Marfan syndrome, focusing on the lack of epicardial activation in the ascending aorta. The findings suggest that this failure to activate the epicardium may be a critical factor in the progression of aortopathy in these patients.
