Our Mission

Together, Dr. Nimrat Grewal and Dr. Simran Grewal founded the TRAIN Health Awareness program to bridge the gap between advanced medical research and everyday health practices. Our mission is to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to take control of their health and prevent non-communicable diseases. Through our program, we aim to provide comprehensive information on risk factors, ongoing research projects, and the latest scientific findings to support a healthier lifestyle.

Our Vision

At TRAIN Health Awareness, we envision a world where individuals are well-informed about their health risks and proactive in managing them. We strive to create a community of informed and engaged individuals who can make better health decisions with the support of the latest research and technology.

Our Approach

Our approach is centered on integrating cutting-edge research with practical health advice. We provide resources and information through our website and the TRAIN Health app, covering topics such as cardiovascular and musculoskeletal health, risk factor management, and ongoing research studies. By making this information accessible and engaging, we hope to foster a culture of health awareness and proactive disease prevention.

Our History Origins and Inspiration Formation of TRAIN Health Awareness Collaboration with TRUCONNECT and Reebok Building the Biobank and Research Initiatives Expanding Outreach and Education Looking Forward

Our History

The TRAIN Health Awareness program was founded by Dr. Nimrat Grewal and Dr. Simran Grewal, two sisters with a shared passion for advancing healthcare and improving patient outcomes. Their journey began in their early medical careers, where they both recognized the critical need for comprehensive health education and proactive disease prevention.

Origins and Inspiration

The inspiration for TRAIN Health Awareness emerged from their experiences in clinical practice and research. Dr. Nimrat Grewal, a cardiothoracic surgeon, observed the devastating impact of aortic diseases on patients and the gaps in early detection and personalized care. Meanwhile, Dr. Simran Grewal, an orthopedic surgeon, encountered numerous cases where preventive measures and patient education could have significantly improved musculoskeletal health outcomes.

Formation of TRAIN Health Awareness

In 2022, Nimrat and Simran decided to combine their expertise and address these gaps through a unified initiative. They envisioned a program that would leverage cutting-edge research and technology to educate and empower patients. This led to the creation of the TRAIN Health Awareness program, with a mission to provide accessible, evidence-based information on health risks and preventive strategies.

Collaboration with TRUCONNECT and Reebok

The program gained significant momentum with the support of TRUCONNECT, a leading health and fitness platform. This partnership enabled the development of the TRAIN Health app, which offered users personalized health insights and tracking tools. In 2024, Reebok acquired TRUCONNECT, providing an opportunity to expand the reach and impact of the TRAIN Health Awareness program.

Building the Biobank and Research Initiatives

A key milestone in the program’s history was the establishment of a biobank containing over 1000 aortic tissue samples and live aortic cells. This invaluable resource has supported numerous research projects aimed at understanding genetic and clinical risk factors for aortic diseases. The TRAIN Health Awareness program has also initiated multiple research studies, collaborating with international partners to explore diverse aspects of cardiovascular and musculoskeletal health.

Expanding Outreach and Education

Recognizing the importance of patient education, the program has continuously expanded its resources and outreach efforts. The development of the TRAIN Health website and various educational materials has made it easier for individuals to access vital health information. The program also hosts workshops, webinars, and community events to engage and educate the public on preventive health measures.

Looking Forward

As TRAIN Health Awareness continues to grow, Dr. Nimrat Grewal and Dr. Simran Grewal remain committed to their vision of a healthier future. They strive to bridge the gap between advanced medical research and practical health advice, ensuring that individuals are well-equipped to manage their health proactively.
