The GENIALITY study is a randomized, placebo-controlled trial investigating whether oral Geranylgeranylacetone (GGA) can prevent postoperative atrial fibrillation (PoAF) in patients undergoing elective cardiothoracic surgery. By assessing PoAF incidence and heat shock protein levels, the study aims to establish GGA as a novel preventive therapy.
